Lake George, Warren County

 

An absolute charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on April 26, 1906 to operate an association library.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on September 21, 1979.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to change the service area from the Village of Lake George to the Town of Lake George, to designate the Commissioner of Education as agent of the corporation upon whom process in any action or proceeding against it may be served, and to add the language necessary to maintain tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3). The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

GREENVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY

 

Greenville, Greene County

 

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on December 20, 1928 to provide library service to the residents of the Village of Greenville. Such provisional charter was extended on September 19, 1941 and December 20, 1946 and was made absolute by Regents action on September 20, 1951.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on June 26, 1992 and June 9, 1998.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to change the chartered service area from the Village of Greenville to the Town of Greenville.   The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

PRATTSBURG FREE LIBRARY

 

Prattsburg, Steuben County

 

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on July 28, 1978 to operate an association library.  Such provisional charter was extended by Regents action on January 18, 1989, September 20, 1996, and January 12, 2004.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the provisional charter to designate the Commissioner of Education as agent of the corporation upon whom process in any action or proceeding against it may be served and to add the language necessary to maintain tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3).  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the provisional charter be amended accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on September 19, 1947 to provide public library service to the residents of Woodgate. Such provisional charter was extended on December 20, 1957, January 28, 1960, January 28, 1965, and January 26, 1968 and was made absolute by Regents action on February 28, 1974.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on June 14, 1996.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to change the chartered service area from Woodgate to the township of Forestport.   The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents to form a corporation to gather, preserve, display and make available for study artifacts, relics, books manuscripts, papers, photographs, and other records and materials relating to the history of the State of New York, particularly of Rocky Point, in the Town of Brookhaven. The board of trustees and the board of directors have petitioned the Board of Regents, pursuant to Education Law §223, for an order of consolidation of Johnsburg Historical Society and Johnsburg Historical Society, Inc.  Johnsburg Historical Society has separately petitioned the Board of Regents for a provisional charter. Johnsburg Historical Society, Inc. was incorporated under §402 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law on August 14, 1973.  Johnsburg Historical Society will assume all the assets, liabilities and responsibilities of both organizations. The consolidated corporation will operate under the provisional charter granted to Johnsburg Historical Society. The Office of Cultural Education recommends that an order of consolidation of Johnsburg Historical Society and Johnsburg Historical Society, Inc., with the surviving corporation being Johnsburg Historical Society, be granted.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on July 29, 1988 to operate a kindergarten through grade nine school.  Such provisional charter was made absolute by Regents action on July 26, 1991.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to authorize the corporation to also operate a universal Pre-K program and a before and after school child care program. The Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has waived the opportunity to consent.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents to form a corporation to operate a grade five through eight school for underprivileged boys.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that a provisional charter be granted for a period of three years.

Falconer, Chautauqua County

 

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on April 23, 2002 to operate a nursery school, a kindergarten, and grades one through twelve school.  The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents for the dissolution of the charter because the school is no longer in operation and all taxes payable by the corporation have been paid.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the provisional charter of the Southern Tier Christian Academy be dissolved and that approval be given to store the student records and all other records with the Levant Wesleyan Church, 1670 Lindquist Drive, Falconer, New York 14733.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents  on April 27, 1951.  Such provisional charter was amended by Regents action on May 23, 1952.  Such provisional charter was made absolute by Regents action on March 25, 1955.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on April 25, 1958, September 25, 1980, February 25, 1983, June 26, 1992, September 18, 1992 and July 16, 1999.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority for the corporation to confer the degrees of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.).  The Office of Higher Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents  on June 26, 1970 to operate a four-year liberal arts college.  Such provisional charter was amended on April 11, 1973, on June 28, 1974, and extended on June 27, 1975 and was consolidated by Regents action on June 21, 1979 with Jewish Teachers Seminary and People’s University, a domestic corporation incorporated pursuant to Chapter 593 of the Laws of 1935 and with Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute, Inc., which was incorporated by action of the Board of Regents under the corporate name “Herzliah Hebrew Academy, Inc.” on February 15, 1923 and amended by Regents action on February 15, 1946 to change the corporate name to “Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute, Inc.”  Such provisional charter was amended and extended numerous times, and was made absolute by Regents action on January 17, 1990.  Such absolute charter was again amended by Regents action on September 19, 1997, April 29, 2003, June 22, 2004, September 10, 2004, January 11, 2005 and September 9, 2005.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority for the corporation to confer the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). The Office of Professions recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.
