corporation by action of the Board of Regents on October 6, 1999 to form a
corporation to operate a school district public library to serve the residents
of the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District. The board of trustees has applied for an
absolute charter. The Office of Cultural Education recommends
that the
provisional charter be made
absolute.

A provisional charter was granted to this
corporation by action of the Board of Regents on April 29, 1920 to operate an
association library to serve the residents of the village of Corfu and vicinity. Such
provisional charter was extended by Regents action on April 18, 1941 and
December 20, 1946. Such provisional
charter was made absolute by Regents action on February 16, 1951 and amended by
Regents action on September 9, 2005. The board of trustees has applied for an
amendment to the absolute charter to designate
the Commissioner of Education as agent of the corporation upon whom process in
any action or proceeding against it may be served. The Office of Cultural Education
recommends that the absolute charter be amended
accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this
corporation by action of the Board of Regents on April 14, 1989 to operate a
public library to serve the Town of Russell. Such provisional charter was
extended by Regents action on July 21, 1995. The board of trustees has applied
for an amendment to the provisional charter to add the language necessary to
maintain tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3), and as so
amended, be extended. The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the
provisional charter be amended accordingly and, as so amended, be extended for a
period of five years.

An absolute charter in the first instance was
granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on June 21, 1991
to establish and operate a nursery school program for children 2 to 5 years of
age, a kindergarten for 5 year olds and an after school care program for
children ages 5 to 12. The board of
trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority
for the corporation to also provide services to preschool special education
children ages 2 to 5. The Office
for Vocational Education Services to Individuals With Disabilities (VESID) has
been provided with an opportunity to review this action and the trustees have
been advised that the granting of any amendment thereof does not constitute
approval for state funding for the programs and services under the jurisdiction
of VESID. The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the absolute
charter be amended accordingly.
THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF
BROOKLYN

County
A provisional charter was granted to this
corporation by action of the Board of Regents on September 10, 2004 to conduct a
nursery school for preschool children from 3 to 5 years of age, a kindergarten
for 5 year olds and a grade one through two elementary school. The board of
trustees has applied for an amendment to the provisional charter to add
authority for the corporation to operate an after school care program and a
summer program for children from 5 to 12 years of age, a bilingual playgroups
program whereby caregivers always accompany the children; workshops on language
development and language classes for the caregivers involved in the playgroups
program, to operate a day care center and to change the corporate address to 298
6th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11215 and as so amended, be extended.
The Office of Children and Family Services
(OCFS) has consented to this action pursuant to §460-a of the Social Services
Law. The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the
provisional charter be amended accordingly and, as so amended, extended for a
period of three years to allow the corporation additional time to develop its
programs and otherwise demonstrate that it can meet the requirements for an
absolute charter.

The board of trustees has petitioned the
Board of Regents to form a corporation to operate a middle school for grades
five through nine to serve handicapped students identified through the “Defer to
CBST” placement process for New York City school age children. The Office of
Nonpublic School Services recommends that a provisional charter be granted for a
period of three years.

by Regents action on June 8, 1999 and further extended by Regents action on
September 13, 2002. Such
provisional charter was last amended by Regents action on September 10, 2004.
The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the provisional charter
be extended for a period of three years to allow the corporation additional time
to develop its programs and otherwise demonstrate that it can meet the
requirements for an absolute charter.
