Executive Summary
Issue for
Decision
The Board of Visitors at the New York State
School for the Deaf has vacancies due to the expiration of terms or
resignations.
Proposed
Handling
The discussion and approval of vacancies will come before the EMSC-VESID
Committee at the May 16, 2005 meeting.
Procedural
History
Each year as vacancies occur, the Board of Regents discusses and approves
recommendations to fill such vacancies.
Background
Information
Section 4353 of Education Law requires the Board of Regents to appoint an
Advisory Board of Visitors of the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome,
NY.
Recommendation
The following individuals be appointed to
fill vacancies on the New York State School for the Deaf Board of Visitors: Thomas Reynolds be reappointed to serve
a five- year term ending June 30, 2010; and Dennis Brady, James Perry, Joseph
DeFina, Donna Jenkins, Donald Starks, Patricia Johnson, Deborah Weiss and
Patricia Slaski be appointed to each serve a five-year term ending June 30,
2010.
Timetable for
Implementation
If the Regents approve the recommended candidates, appointments will be
made in June 2005.
