Report of Regents Professional Practice Executive Session Committee to The Board of Regents
Regents Committee on Professional Practice
Regent Norwood, Co-Chair, Regent Cottrell, Co-Chair, Regent Cea, Regent Collins, Regent Reyes, Regent Wills, Regent Catania, Regent Hale, Regent Pratts, and Regent Mannion.
The Professional Practice Committee held its scheduled meeting on November 5, 2024. All members were present except for Regent Wade S. Norwood, Regent James E. Cottrell, and Regent Catherine Collins, who were excused. Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr. also attended the meeting and voted as an ex-officio member.
Vice Chancellor Judith Chin, Regent Susan W. Mittler, Regent Aramina Vega Ferrer, Regent Shino Tanikawa, and Regent Seema Rivera also attended the meeting, but did not vote on any action. Regent Roger Tilles also attended the meeting by video conference, but did not vote on any action.
ACTION ITEMS
Professional Discipline Cases [PPC EXS (A) 2 – 4]
The Committee recommends, upon the recommendation of the Committee on the Professions, that 38 consent order applications and 12 surrender applications be granted, and further recommends that 3 summary suspension applications (1 license & 2 certificates) be granted.
These recommendations are made following the review of 53 cases involving thirteen registered professional nurses, four certified public accountants, three licensed practical nurses, three licensed practical nurses who are also registered professional nurses, three psychologists, two dentists, two licensed clinical social workers, two registered professional nurses who are nurse practitioners in Family Health and Psychiatry, one acupuncturist, one audiologist, one certificate to administer dental enteral conscious sedation, one certified public accountancy partnership, one land surveyor, one licensed master social worker who is also a licensed clinical social worker, one massage therapist, one occupational therapist, one pharmacist, one pharmacy, one physical therapist, one psychology professional corporation, and one registered professional nurse who is also a nurse practitioner in Adult Health who is also a nurse practitioner in Psychiatry.
MOTION FOR ACTION BY FULL BOARD
The Professional Practice Committee recommends, and we move, that the Board of Regents act affirmatively upon each recommendation in the written report of the Committee's deliberations at its meeting on November 5, 2024, copies of which have been distributed to each Regent.
