Report of Regents P-12 Education Committee to The Board of Regents

Your P-12 Education Committee held its scheduled meeting on October 7, 2019.  All members were present, except for Regent Norwood, who was excused.

MATTERS NOT REQUIRING BOARD ACTION

2020-21 Non-State Aid Budget and Legislative Priorities [P-12(D) 1] – Your Committee discussed previous Non-State Aid proposals and identified and discussed new initiatives for consideration for inclusion in the Board’s 2020- 21 Non-State Aid budget and legislative priorities. The proposals will be sent back to committees as appropriate in November for further consideration and will come before the full Board in December for approval. 

Progress Update on the Rollout of the Next Generation English Language Arts and Mathematics Standards [P-12(D) 2] - Staff updated the Committee on the guidance and resources created, as well as the activities accomplished to date related to the rollout of the Next Generation ELA and Math Standards.

Early Childhood Blue Ribbon Committee - Your Committee continued the discussion regarding the Early Childhood Blue Ribbon Committee’s report and work thus far.
