Report of Regents P-12 Education/Adult Career and Continuing Education (ACCES) Joint Meeting Committee to The Board of Regents

Your P12 Education/ACCES Joint Committee held its scheduled meeting on January 13, 2014.  All members were present, with the exception of Regent Bendit, Regent Chapey, and Regent Rosa, who were excused.

MATTERS NOT REQUIRING BOARD ACTION

Alternative Education Services Overview – Your Committees were provided a presentation on the scope and status of Adult and Alternative Education Services in New York State provided by the State Education Department.  Your Committees recommend that with the implementation of a new, more rigorous High School Equivalency exam, the Department develop a cross office plan to offer enhanced professional staff development and training including content instruction at the Adult Secondary Education level.  In addition, we improve data collection to capture more specific student and program information needed to support improved service and results.
