Background Information

       It is requested that the Board of Regents authorize its Subcommittee on State Aid to take interim action between the November and December 2008 Regents meeting so that the Board of Regents State Aid Proposal may be approved by the Subcommittee on behalf of the Board of Regents, and thereby ensure its availability and consideration by the Governor's Office prior to the anticipated release of the Executive Budget Proposal on or about December 16, 2008.  Any interim action taken by the Subcommittee must be reported to the full Board at the December meeting.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the Board of Regents take the following action:

VOTED, that the Subcommittee on State Aid of the Board of Regents is hereby authorized to take interim action for the Board of Regents during the period commencing on November 19, 2008 and ending on December 14, 2008 and that any such action shall be reported to the Board at its meeting on December 15-16, 2008.

Timetable for Implementation

              The Subcommittee on State Aid would be authorized to take interim action during the period commencing on November 19, 2008 and ending on December 14, 2008.  Any such action taken shall be reported to the Board at its meeting on December 15-16, 2008.
