Felicia Thomas-Williams
Biography
Felicia Thomas-Williams, Retired Principal of Brentwood West Middle School, has been a passionate child and community advocate for the past 34 years. In her role as principal, Felicia helped to bring cutting edge organizations to the district with a focus on empowering students to hone-in on their leadership and the importance of being globally aware and socially responsible. She also collaborated with many community organizations that enhanced student engagement, resources, and family involvement.
Felicia is a fervent advocate for public education. She served on the Government Relations Committee for the School Administrators Association for New York State (SAANYS) where she held a seat on the board in her role as the New York State Coordinator of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) until her retirement in 2024. Felicia is a graduate of SUNY Old Westbury, where she earned her B.A. in American Studies, Long Island University, C.W. Post, where she earned her M.S. in Special Education, and Touro, where she earned her S.D.A. and S.A.S. Felicia attended Harvard University with a select team of teachers and administrators and received a certificate in Instructional Rounds. She also received a certificate from the Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality through NYU, a program that focuses on research on equity and the transformation of schools.
As the Founder and CEO of EduZen Consulting, Felicia leads a firm dedicated to providing executive coaching for leaders, helping them navigate challenges and drive meaningful change. She continues to foster partnerships with community organizations to encourage global awareness and a sense of responsibility to the community. Felicia serves on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, and holds memberships in many organizations such as Long Island Black Educators, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, The LINKS Incorporated, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and several other notable organizations. Felicia has been recognized for her commitment to the community by numerous stakeholders, however she is most proud of her award as the 2020 New York State Principal of the Year.
Felicia resides on Long Island in Suffolk County with her husband Keith and their two dogs Wesley and Willow.
