Your ACCES/P12 Joint Committee held its scheduled meeting on December 10, 2012. All members were present, with the exception of Regent Norwood, who was excused.
MATTERS NOT REQUIRING BOARD ACTION
Youth with Disabilities: Transition to Employment and a Positive Future – The Committee was provided a panel discussion about the role of youth and families in making the transition from school to employment through their connections with community networks. The assembled panel of youth and their family members shared life experiences with transition from school to employment and offered perspectives that enriched this important dialogue. Panel members included: Fredda Rosen, the Executive Director of JobPath; Jackson Aarons, who lives in Troy, is served by the Arc through supported employment and service coordination and works at the Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital; Todd Irby-Ranniar, who lives in Manhattan, is a graduate of the Manhattan Occupational Training Center and works as a mail clerk at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Hamilton law firm; and, family representatives Michelle Bulson and Linda Irby-Ranniar.
