EDUCATION (ACCES) COMMITTEE

Your ACCES Committee held its scheduled meeting on March 20, 2012.  All members were present, with the exception of Chancellor Emeritus Bennett, Regent Rosa, Regent Tilles and Regent Norwood, who were excused.  Additional members of the Board attending where:  Chancellor Tisch, Regent Cashin, Regent Jackson, and Regent Phillips.

Matters Not Requiring Board Action

ACCES-VR Employment Outcomes and Strategies for Improvement – The Committee was provided an annual update on recent results and strategic actions to increase the number and quality of employment outcomes for individuals participating in vocational rehabilitation services.  Kyle Goodridge, Co-Chair of the State Rehabilitation Council, presented on the vocational rehabilitation item and contributed his viewpoint as an employer and his ideas on how we can work closer with employers to meet their needs and increase employment outcomes for our consumers.  Kyle also presented on the regulatory changes being proposed by the United States Department of Labor.  (ACCES (D)1)
