Your Higher Education Committee held its scheduled meeting on October 18, 2011.  All members were present with the exception of Chancellor Emeritus Bennett who was absent and excused.

Discussion Items: Items not requiring Board action

Legislative priorities.  All Committees began discussion this month on the Regents Legislative Priorities.   Your Committee proposed two priorities - Tenured Teacher Hearings (§3020-a) and the TAP Eligibility for full-time students in Early College High School Programs.

Online, out-of-state higher education institutions.  The Deputy provided an overview of current issues and policies, and their implications regarding distance education.

MOTION FOR ACTION BY FULL BOARD

Madam Chancellor and Colleagues:  Your Higher Education Committee recommends, and we move, that the Board of Regents act affirmatively upon each recommendation in the written report of the Committee’s deliberations at its meeting on October 18, 2011, copies of which have been distributed to each Regent.
