For information.
Proposed Handling
This presentation is before the Professional Practice Committee for discussion at the November 2008 meeting.
Procedural History
The current iteration of a project to replace Office of the Professions’ computer system was begun in September of 2007.
Background Information
A plan was completed in the summer of 2008 to achieve a “state-of-the-art” licensing and discipline system. The plan includes a licensing and discipline tracking and processing system using leading edge technology, an electronic document management system to reduce cycle-time issues due to handling and storage of paper documents, and a knowledge base system to provide 24/7 online answers to frequently asked professional practice and procedural questions related to licensure and discipline.
Timetable for Implementation
The plan will be implemented in stages over a 2.5-year period, beginning in late December 2008 with the knowledge base system and ending with the last of the professions being converted to the new licensing and discipline computer system in May 2011.
