SUMMARY:
The City University of New York (CUNY) has petitioned the Regents for authority to confer the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at Queens College, Flushing. Subdivision (8) of �6206 of Education Law states that:
The [CUNY] board of trustees shall, on the recommendation of its faculty or faculties, grant the certificates, diplomas and degrees which were announced in the bulletins of the existing public institutions of higher learning published for the term beginning immediately prior to April sixteenth, nineteen hundred twenty-six, and also such other degrees and honors as the regents thereafter specifically authorized or may hereafter authorize it to grant.
The Office of College and University Evaluation has determined that the proposed B.B.A. programs meet the standards for registration set forth in the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education.
Recommendation: I recommend that the Regents take the following action:
VOTED, that The City University of New York Board of Trustees be authorized, effective April 29, 2003, to confer the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree to duly qualified students successfully completing registered programs at Queens College.
